Introduction
The Fenghao(沣镐Fēnghào) is one of the capitals of the Zhou Dynasty (1100-221BC), which replaced the Shang, was only 15 kilometers southwest of present day Xi’an. Fenghao was then the political, economic and cultural center of the Western Zhou Dynasty in ancient China.
Fenghao Site, covering an area of 10 square kilometers, includes the city ruins and the tombs of that period. More than 400 hundred tombs and large quantities of relics buried with the dead were excavated in the site, such as Chariot and Horse Pits, Horse Pits and Ox Pits, with many bronze wares, on which recorded some historical facts of the period in Zhou.
